Overview

Your grant is an achievement that you should share with your community. Developed by the North Carolina Arts Council’s marketing and communications team, this toolkit provides grantees with communication templates to promote that you have just been awarded a Spark the Arts grant from the Arts Council. Social media and earned media have proven effective in raising policymakers' awareness of arts programming, in turn increasing their support at the state and federal levels--and, of course, they are a great way to promote the brilliant work of your organization.

Here are some ideas for basic publicity that can help extend the news of your award, build goodwill with your key stakeholders, and emphasize to the public your value to the community. Please feel free to use all or any of these resources as you see fit, and don’t forget to tag us in all of your posts.

Logos and credit line

All grant recipients receiving either state or federal funding are required to prominently display the North Carolina Arts Council logo with tagline and credit lines on-site at funded events and in all digital and printed publicity materials. We also encourage you to use this on your website, electronic newsletters, and in as many materials and places as possible. Your display of these items serve to recognize the investment by the North Carolina General Assembly in our grants and programs.
